Choral concert to get Christmas in voice

December 4, 2013 by

On its way this weekend, the Great Rivers Choral Society Winter Concert is being presented by the Edwardsville Parks Department as part of its popular Winter Concert series.

The theme for this year’s Great Rivers Choral Society program is ‘Celebrating a White Christmas’ and will feature holiday music from the Bing Crosby era. Poster printing and flyer printing were most likely used to promote this winter concert to those looking for seasonal cheer.

Also from that era, people will hear popular songs from singers such as Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. Guests are invited to come and enjoy some of the most remembered holiday season music, likely to include such favorites as ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’, ‘The Christmas Song’, ‘I’ll be Home for Christmas’, and ‘White Christmas’.

There will also be traditional carols and a guest sing-along sure to promote the holiday spirit. During the evening, guests will enjoy a selection of catered hors d’oeuvres, included in the ticket price, provided by the Edwardsville Parks Department. These will be served in the Marquee Room from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, while the supply lasts.

Tickets for this concert vary depending on the seating selected. The Great Rivers Choral Society Winter Concert will be happening this Friday, December 6, at 7:00 pm at the Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville, Illinois. To learn more about this performance or to purchase tickets, please visit the venue’s website or call its box office during business hours.
