Seminar to spread the word

July 24, 2012 by

The Career Resource Center is presenting the seminar ‘Expand your Connections’ on August 7 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Admission is free.

The seminar will be presented by attorney Marc Silver of Barnes and Thronburg. He will be discussing how a network can be built by helping others find employment. The key to networking is showing others how your business can help other businesses, which could be through recommending people for jobs or discussing potential employees by with their previous employer.

This will be an interactive event and those who attend are invited to bring their own ideas of networking, flyers that describe their business, and business cards. It will be wise if those attending arrange for business card printing in advance so they have enough to hand out to those who want them. This event is likely to draw in business leaders from all over the Deerfield, Bannockburn, and Riverwoods Chamber of Commerces’ area of influence, so this will be an excellent networking opportunity.

Networking is one of the most important things that a business owner can do. It is one way of bringing in new business and in taking a company to the next level of success. Events such as this not only instruct business leaders on the finer points of networking, they also provide the opportunity for networking. It is suggested that all business owners and leaders attend at least one networking event a month and this one will instruct those who attend on how they can create networking opportunities in every facet of business.
