Lakeside the place for weekend laughs

July 4, 2013 by

Residents of Crystal Lake and the surrounding areas are invited to join in with the 34th annual Lakeside Festival, hosted by the Lakeside Legacy Foundation this weekend.

The profits from this large fundraiser preserve and protect the historic Dole Mansion. Poster printing, banner printing, and flyer printing might have been chosen to promote this fundraising event as a family fun day with plenty to keep everyone amused.

Along with the event’s live performances, a midway, and unlimited ride bands, the annual July 4th parade passes directly by the grounds and can be watched by all. The festival is operated totally by volunteers and there is an established children’s area with plenty of games, activities, and events planned.

This is an outdoor festival and is a ‘rain or shine’ event, so people are reminded to dress appropriately and bring sunscreen and cameras. This year, Gregory B, Cover Girl, and 16 Candles will be live on stage. At the closing of the festival, there will be a “light up the sky” fireworks display. Parking is available on Golf Road, Ringling Road, and Country Club Road.

Admission to this event is $5 entrance fee for adults, $2 for seniors, and kids under 12 and military members enter free. The Lakeside Festival will be taking place on Sunday, July 7, from 12:00 pm until closing at the Lakeside Legacy Arts Park located at 401 Country Club Road in Crystal Lake, Illinois. To purchase tickets, or to learn more about the schedule of events, please visit the Lakeside Legacy Foundation website or call the office at 815-455-8000.
