June 9, 2012 by

On Sunday, June 10th, the Crystal Lake Historic Preservation Commission will be opening its new trolley tour at the Downtown Crystal Lake Gazebo located at 70 E. Woodstock Street in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This event will run from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

As in previous years, the Crystal Lake Historic Preservation Commission has created a new trolley tour that will features historic locations and properties throughout the community. Guests who sign up for this new tour will travel down the historic streets of Oriole Trail, Dole, and Pomeroy, as well as many others. This tour is guided and passengers will learn the history, as well as the personal stories of the people who built the homes and the people who lived in them. On this opening day of the tour, guests will receive a “keepsake tour book” that will provide them with additional information about the tour locations that is not covered during the guided tour. Early morning tours often sell out, so guests will want to be sure they arrive ahead of time or reserve early to have a seat. Round-trip tickets can be purchased at Heisler’s Bootery located at 50 N. Williams Street. Elderly guests are reminded to bring a sweater in case they are chilly.

Flyer printing and brochure printing may have been used to promote this great tour to the residents of this community. Tickets for this event are $10. For more information, or to reserve tickets in advance, please visit Heisler’s Bootery or call the Crystal Lake Historic Preservation Commission at 815-479-0835.
