Upcoming sales to bring in unique garden furnishings

The 2013 Antiques and Garden Show is taking place over three days this April.

The theme of this year’s show is ‘Color in the garden: an artist’s view’, and it will feature plenty of shopping opportunities, guest speakers, and lectures from experts. Items for sale will include antique garden furnishings, botanical inspired art, and home design.

Guest speaker Michael C. Smith will be talking about ‘Building Beauty’. Other speakers will include landscape designer Charles Stick and Jeanne Pinsof Nolan from Organic Gardener Ltd. It should be a great opportunity for those who want to learn how to make their gardens and homes unique.

There will be a preview evening the night before the show opens, and it will be a charitable fundraiser for the Chicago Botanical Garden. Guests will be treated to early shopping opportunities, buffets, and refreshments.

Organizers will likely be working with Chicago print companies to help advertise the show to the community with products like flyers and posters.

The Antiques and Garden Sale will be taking place at the Chicago Botanical Garden’s Regenstein Center from April 19 – 21. Tickets are $15 in advance if purchased before April 18, $18 during the show, or $20 for all three days, with Botanical Garden members receiving a $3 discount.

Tickets for the preview evening, which will take place on April 18 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm range from $250 each to $5,000. Tickets for the individual lectures are $65 in advance or $70 when purchased during the show. For more information on any of these, call 847-835-8365.
