Lisle welcomes Anime Midwest
May 22, 2012 by Mark
Anime Midwest is a weekend-long anime convention which takes place in Lisle, IL. Fans from as far as Peoria, Champaign, and farther are likely to attend as it isn’t uncommon for die-hard enthusiasts to travel long distances just to attend popular conventions.
Anime, a form of Japanese animation, is fast becoming a leading form of entertainment in pop-culture. Several events are to take place during this year’s convention, which features a range of guest appearances and parties. Printing companies are likely to kick in and produce a wide variety of services to help advertize the convention, with anime poster printing likely to be one of their main focuses.
Throughout the convention’s procession, an array of different anime movies and series will screen in different rooms depending on the taste of the viewer. As with other past conventions, there will no doubt be rooms for more serious and adult oriented anime and rooms for the more goofy, all-ages anime.
Along with anime screenings, special guest appearances will be rolled out for attendees of the convention, with guest panels which will allow fans to ask questions and discuss certain topics. Night owls can enjoy rave and techno music to top off their stay at the convention. The rave in itself is a good finishing touch to the perfect day for an Anime Midwest attendee.
Anime Midwest is scheduled to take place from July 6 – 8 at the Wyndham Hotel and Convention Center in Lisle, Illinois. Ticket prices are $30 until June 10 or $35 at the door. Alternatively, fans can pay $25 for a one-day pass.
