Great songster comes to Champaign

October 10, 2012 by

Tommy Castro, an outstanding musician, won the award for ‘Best Song’ at the 2011 International Songwriting competition in the Blues category after being picked up by Alligator Records. The title track on the album ‘Hard Believer’ was an instant success, and he will no doubt be performing that and several other hits in Champaign this weekend.

Having won the 2009 and 2010 BB King Entertainer of the Year, as well as the Band of the Year award in 2010, this performer has perfected his own signature style and sound and makes his living playing his great music. His group started in the local bay region and then joined the ‘Dynatones’ and toured the world. As a superb blues, rock, and R&B performer, his impassioned, hard-hitting vocals and original, electric stage show have kept audiences returning for more.

Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to share the news about this entertaining performer’s appearance in Champaign to the local residents and people in surrounding areas. Tickets are $15 per person in advance and $18 per person at the door.

This performance is presented by WWHP 98.3, The Whip and will be held this Sunday, October 14, starting at 8:15 pm at High Drive located at 51 Main Street in Champaign, Illinois. To buy tickets or learn more, please visit High Drive’s website, or Tommy Castro’s website, or call the bar during normal business hours.

Castro will be appearing in some cities in Europe later this month, before returning for a US tour in November and December.
