Jazz in the Meadows less than a month away
January 29, 2013 by James
Coming up soon in Rolling Meadows is the 28th annual Jazz in the Meadows festival, presented by Rolling Meadows High School Music Booster’s Club.
This festival features over 100 jazz bands from 65 different schools throughout five states, which makes it one of the largest and most highly-respected jazz gatherings in the Mid-West. Poster printing may have been used to promote this high school jazz day to members of this community and surrounding communities.
This is a not-to-be-missed function for local enthusiasts who enjoy the local jazz scene, featuring some of the most renowned jazz bands and combos from Wisconsin, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana. The majority of these acts will compete in the competitive portion of this event to achieve the top honors in their category. By winning, bands and combos have the opportunity to compete in the Grand Finale concert held at the end of the day. This year’s special guest artists is Bob Lark Alumni Big Band, and audiences are bound to love all the performances, split into 15-minute sets and followed by a critique.
Tickets for this daylong event are $7 per adult and $5 per student. The Jazz in the Meadows festival will be held on Saturday, February 23, starting at 8:00 am and running into the evening hours at Rolling Meadows High School, located at 2901 Central Road in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. For additional details or tickets, please visit the Rolling Meadows High School website or call the school office at 847-718-5752 during regular school hours.
