The Tevis Gallery, at the Carroll County Arts Council will be presenting the “Gallery of Gifts” until January 12, 2012. This is the perfect event to find a last minute gift for the holidays and all items will be wrapped for free. The Arts Council is open Monday-Wednesday from 10 am-4 pm, Thursday from 10am-8 pm and Friday-Saturday from 10 am-4 pm; admission to the gallery is free.

Over 27 local Westminster artists will be presenting this “unique shopping boutique.” All items must be handmade and unique to this show. You will find original stocking stuffers, holiday décor and arts and crafts at the show. Some of the artists taking part include Fai Wilson who creates paintings and collages, Heidi Landry creates holiday ornaments and décor, Larry Fisher creates wooden boxes and Keighty Crochet makes monster dolls. In addition, you will be able to buy clay sculptures, ceramics, seasonal jewelery, fused glass and wearable art. You are sure to find something for that hard-to-buy-for friend or family member.

“The purpose of the Carroll County Arts Council is to serve citizens and visitors by acting as a link between the arts community and education, business, government, the media, and the private sector.” In addition to the Tevis Gallery, the Arts Council consists of a 263-seat theatre, and two art classrooms. There are lots of opportunities for local Westminster businesses to sponsor the various events presented by the Arts Council; local printing companies could help by donating their services to create programs and tickets for the individual events.
