Celebrate the holidays in Westminster

November 20, 2012 by

Beginning in late November, there will be a variety of holiday-related events taking place in Westminster. Many of them will involve shopping for gifts, but there will be an array of other activities taking place up until December 22. No doubt organizers have worked with Westminster printing companies to design and print the poster that is likely to have been distributed throughout the community.

On November 24, the Small Business Saturday Shopping Extravaganza will kick off at 10:00 am. Many local businesses in downtown Westminster will be offering special sales to shoppers. That same day, ‘Miracle on Main Street’ will feature a showing of ‘Miracle on 34th St.’ at the Carroll Arts Center at 3:00 pm, a holiday electric parade beginning at 5:00 pm, the annual tree lighting on Locust Lane at 6:00 pm, and Santa’s Treat at the Westminster Library from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm. November 24 is also the beginning of the Festival of Wreaths that will be running at the Carroll Arts Center until December 1.

Children will be able to visit with Santa on Locust Lane on December 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. So as not to forget those who need it, there will be a Red Cross blood drive on December 5 from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Westminster Family Fitness Center. Lastly, the Gallery of Gifts will take place at the Carroll Arts Center from December 6 – 22, giving people a chance to find some gifts for their loved ones.

These are just a few of the many events that will be taking place throughout the holiday season.
