Carroll County businesses celebrated in Westminster
October 30, 2012 by Sarah
It is nearly time for the 6th annual Carroll County Business Awards, which will take place at the Portico of St. John on an evening including filling appetizers, an open bar offering wine and beer, and a cash bar offering mixed cocktails.
The awards are meant to recognize those businesses that have been particularly successful and have contributed to the economy of the county. There are two divisions of awards – those presented by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and those presented by the Carroll County Department of Economic Development. The Chamber awards include such awards as Small Business of the Year – split into three sections based on size of company – and the Nonprofit in Business Award. The Department of Economic Development awards include the Agri-tourism Award, the Emerging Business Award, and the Gateway Improvement Program Award. The winners were nominated for the awards by the local business community.
The event will be an excellent networking event for small business owners in Carroll County, including Westminster. No doubt they will be arranging for business card printing in advance so they will have enough cards to exchange with their business peers. No doubt they will strive to make sure that their contact information is up-to-date. It will also be an opportunity for those business leaders to add the award winners to their referral networks and to possibly learn what makes them different to those companies that do not win awards.
The awards evening will be held on November 8 from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm, with tickets costing $50.
