Girl Guides to honor five Maryland businesswomen

The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland’s Distinguished Women’s Award reception will take place in Baltimore this April, and the event will honor five local businesswomen who exemplify the goals and values of the Girl Scouts.

This year’s recipients are Dr. Winifred J. Booker, Maria Harris Tildon, Patricia McHugh Lambert, Karen Pecora-Barbour, and Cecile Perich. The reception will also raise money for the Girl Guides of Central Maryland through silent and live auctions. The funds will support their leadership development programs for schoolgirls. Appetizers and refreshments will no doubt also be served during the evening.

The reception will also be a great networking opportunity for local businesspersons. Those attending will have the chance to talk to the award winners and to learn some of their secrets to their success. They will also be able to discuss business with their fellow entrepreneurial peers in attendance about their own company and learn how they can connect with other local businesses. There will be plenty of time during the evening to exchange digital business cards so that contacts will not be lost.

It is likely that local business from nearby communities such as Stevensville will be donating items for the auctions. Organizers might work with local banner printing companies to help acknowledge those businesses at the reception.

The Distinguished Women’s Award reception will take place at the Baltimore Country Club on April 25 from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm. For more information, such as ticket prices, call 410-358-9711.
