Gala will celebrate international trade
July 17, 2013 by Sarah
The Gateway to Africa Gala will take place in College Park next month and is a presentation of the Economic Development Corporation’s Africa Trade Office International Programs.
The event is intended to honor African industry and to encourage local business leaders to invest in their products and services. The gala will feature special guests including keynote speaker Rushern Baker, the Governor of Maryland Martin O’Malley, Congressional and Senate leaders, and local businesspersons.
The evening will allow guests to enjoy international cuisine, musical entertainment, and dancing. Guests will also witness an awards ceremony to honor some of those in attendance for their dedication to international trade.
Sponsorships are available for the event from $500 to $10,000. Advertising space is also available in the program booklet that everyone in attendance will receive. It is very likely that company representatives from all over the area, including nearby Stevensville, will attend this business gala. Local brochure printers will probably be providing the program booklets to the organizers of the gala, and new business card printing orders are also likely among those hoping to sell items at the event.
The Gateway to Africa Gala will take place at the Riggs Alumni Center of the University of Maryland in College Park on August 2 from 7:30 pm – 11:30 pm. Tickets are $180 per couple. For more information about the gala, to become a sponsor, or to purchase advertising space, call 301-583-4650 or visit the website of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce.
