Celebrate Kent Island Day
May 13, 2012 by Mark
Kent Island Day will take place in stevensville on May 19th. The day celebrates the 1631 founding of Kent Island and is presented by the Kent Island Heritage Society.
The day will feature a parade on Main Street, historic exhibits, nature displays, family-friendly activities, food concessions, historical costumes, children’s activities and crafts, and vendors. It will be a fun and relaxing way to learn about the history of Kent Island; great for kids, long-time residents and newcomers to the area.
Vendors can rent space for $30 but must provide their own tables, chairs, and tents if necessary. Those who plan to offer their products for sale during Kent Island Day can work with Stevensville printing companies to help them prepare for the event. There will be many vendors so each one will want to draw people to their table. A printing company can provide them with banner printing services to help their tables stand out from the rest and draw the crowd to them. Local brochure printers can also provide them with literature and catalogs to highlight their business and to offer those who stop by the table a freebie to take home with them.
Kent Island Day will also be a great opportunity for local artists and craftspeople to showcase their artworks and of course sell them to those who are interested. They can help to grow their business by introducing themselves to the public who will be celebrating and might possibly start a business relationship that will increase their standing in the community.
