Attend the Congressional Delegation Dinner

January 22, 2012 by

The 2012 Congressional Delegation Dinner presented by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce will take place on February 6 from 5:30-9 pm. It will be held at Martin’s Crosswinds in Greenbelt. Tickets are $85 for Chamber members and $150 for non-members.

This will be a town-hall format in which members of the Maryland congress will be discussing several business issues that affect Maryland business leaders. This includes federal legislation and laws, the current national and state economy, transportation issues and current business regulations.

This will be a good chance for business leaders from all over Maryland, including Stevensville to share their concerns with their government representatives. It will also be a great networking event. Those attending should make sure to arrange for a new business card printing order before the dinner. Those business cards should be professional looking and contain your contact information. There will be lots of chances to exchange business cards with your business peers during the dinner.

Networking is one of the most important things you can do to ensure the success of your business. If you do attend a dinner or other networking event you should make a point of trying to sit with strangers, not the same people you sit with at other networking events. When you do exchange business cards make sure you have the chance to deliver your “elevator speech”, a 60 second summary of your business and what you can do for others. When receiving another’s business card, make sure you actually take the time to look at it before putting it in your pocket or purse.
