Annual arts festival about to return to Annapolis
May 29, 2013 by Sarah
The 4th annual Annapolis Arts, Crafts and Wine Festival is taking place across two days next month.
Over 200 artists and crafters will be selling their original handmade items, including jewelry, ceramics, clothing, paintings, prints, and home decor. There will also be representatives from approximately 25 Maryland wineries and jazz music.
There is plenty on offer for the children as well, with activities including theater, music, face painting, airbrushed tattoos, storytelling, and hands-on tie dyeing crafts. The art of the Annapolis the Arts poster contest winners will also be on display, meaning there is something for all ages.
The festival looks set to be a great opportunity for new artists to make their names known in the area. Those wishing to take part must apply by submitting four pictures of their work to a jury. Once chosen, they can rent space for $275 or $300 for a corner location. It is up to the artist or crafter to provide their own tents if they so wish.
The festival will be widely marketed through posters, postcards, and brochures which will be distributed throughout the area, including nearby Stevensville. No doubt local printing companies have been called upon to provide those items to the organizers of the festival.
The festival will take place at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium from June 8 to 9. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for youth and seniors; while children aged 12 and under are admitted free. For more information, call 410-263-4012.
