Festival to celebrate the variety of Maryland wines
October 10, 2013 by Max
The Autumn Wine Festival will be taking place for two days in Salisbury this October.
The event is a presentation of the Maryland Wineries Association. It is expected to draw 20 local wineries that will be providing unlimited tasting to those in attendance, and everyone will receive a six-ounce wine glass to use.
In addition to wine, there will be music provided by bands such as Tim Reynolds & TR3 and Sideways, commercial vendors, artists, and crafters, food for sale, and seminars. Seminars, which will be held in the Educational Tent, will have some topics as ‘Wine making at home’, ‘Pottery making’, ‘How a chimney cake is produced’ and ‘Wine tasting 101’.
Those who purchase VIP tickets to the festival will have access to a covered tent, hors d’oeuvres, a wine-making forum, a presentation from Laurie Forster, a T-shirt, a gift bag, and a souvenir wine glass.
It is likely that the various wineries will be investing in products such as banners from Salisbury and area printing companies. This will draw more attention to their booths and remind the tasters exactly which wine they liked the best.
The Autumn Wine Festival will take place at Pemberton Park from October 19-20. Admission is $25 for one day in advance or $35 at the gate, or $5 in advance for those not tasting wine and $10 at the gate. VIP tickets are $55 in advance or $90 at the gate, but those tickets are limited to 200. To find out more information, call 410-548-4914.
