Run for the kids in Rockville
July 12, 2012 by James
The Darcars Rockville Rotary Twilight Runfest will take place in Downtown Rockville on July 21, beginning at 10:45 PM. There is a $37 entry fee in advance or $40 on the day of the event. Proceeds go to support youth programs in the Rockville community.
The event, which is being presented by the Montgomery County Road Runners Club, will feature a 8K run and a 1K fun-run, with a wheelchair division also on offer. The 8K run is United States Track and Field/NNRC certified and certain world-class runners are invited to take part. Awards will be given out to the Open male and female top five, the Masters male and female top three, and various age divisions. In addition, there will be a team division, in which teams must consist of five runners or over with an entry fee of $10 per person. Throughout the night, there will also be live musical entertainment and refreshments, including beer.
Taking part in either run could be an excellent team building exercise for any local companies. Good teamwork always leads to a more productive workplace but it does not always come naturally, which is where team building comes in handy. Many companies do this by going on retreats or taking part in an athletic competition such as this. By working with Rockville printing companies, businesses can add to the camaraderie and provide such things as certificates of completion to those who finish the run, which could be suitable for framing and displayed in a public area of the business.
