Rockville gears up for classic vehicle display
October 17, 2013 by James
The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show is taking place this weekend, and owners of cars manufactured up to 1988 are eligible to register.
The show is expected to attract 29 local car organizations, including the Mid-Maryland Ford Club and the Mid-Atlantic Thunderbird Club. One special part of the show is set to highlight British vehicles from 1960 and beyond. The public will get to vote for their favorite cars until 2:00 pm on the day of the event. All the registered cars will be competing for the People’s Choice Award and the Mayor and Council Award. Winners receive a printed plaque, perhaps produced by a printing company in the area.
In addition to a wide variety of classic cars, there will also be a flea market, which will be selling various merchandise, and a musical performance by the Rockville Swing Band.
Organizers are no doubt investing in services such as banner printing from Rockville printing companies. The banners can be used to recognize the various car clubs participating, while also highlighting the flea market area of the show.
The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show will take place on October 19 at the Glenview Mansion in Rockville Civic Center Park from 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with a rain date of October 26. Admission is free. Registration is $20 per car and free for those with cars from 1931 and earlier if they register in advance. For more information, call 240-314-8620.
