Hometown Holidays celebrates the best of Rockville
May 11, 2013 by Sarah
The Hometown Holidays celebration is taking place over Memorial Day weekend in Rockville.
The celebration will be divided into five color-coded zones and will feature musical performances by over 30 bands such as The Waiting, the Victorian Lyric Opera Company, Milkshake, the Hillbilly Gypsies, and Sunny Sweeney. There will also be a ceremony and a parade on Memorial Day, and the emcee of the event will be Brian van de Graaff of ABC/WJLA.
The Taste of Rockville will be taking place during the celebration as well, and guests will be able to purchase tickets and to sample the food of local restaurants. There will also be a children’s zone with lots of fun hands-on activities. Several community organizations will also be on hand to provide information about their programs or to hold special fundraising events such as the Rockville Friends of the Library Booksale.
There will definitely be something taking place during the three-day celebration to appeal to those of any age.
The organizers of the celebration are no doubt working with Rockville printing companies to prepare for this popular annual event. This might involve purchasing such products as banners to highlight various areas, signs to recognize any sponsors and flyers to inform the public about the schedule of events.
Hometown Holidays will take place at Rockville Town Center from May 25 – 27. Admission is free. Taste tickets are $1.25 each and guests can purchase a souvenir beer mug (including beer) for $10. For more information, call 240-314-5000.
