Habitat to present a preview of the Maryland Home and Garden Show

February 28, 2013 by

For the third year, Habitat Chesapeake will be hosting a preview party for the Maryland Home and Garden Show.

The show itself will take place this weekend, March 2 – 3, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds. It will feature over 300 exhibitors, landscaping displays, and a wide variety of activities and displays related to gardening and the home, offering an exciting opportunity for green-fingered guests.

Guests will be given a sneak preview of the displays in the ‘Films in Flowers’ themed display area. The area features displays by 12 landscape designers based on movies such as The Great Gatsby and Caddyshack. Guests, who are encouraged to dress as they would if they were attending a movie premiere, will be served appetizers, beer, and wine. All proceeds from the event will go towards Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake.

Habitat for Humanity builds houses for low-income families, who are expected to help in the building of their own home and to help others build their own homes.

It is very likely that organizers of the party will be working with printing companies from the area, including those in Lutherville, to spread the word to the community, perhaps through such methods as banner printing.

The 3rd annual Habitat Chesapeake’s preview party will take place at the Maryland State Fairgrounds tomorrow, March 1 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Tickets are $50 in advance or $60 at the door. For more information on the party, please call 410-366-1250.
