Celebrate small businesses in Maryland

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year Awards Luncheon will take place at the Arundel Preserve on June 7 from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm. Tickets are $80 for chamber members and $100 for non-members.

The luncheon will also be featuring a trade show where members, and future members, can showcase their products and services, especially those that are of interest to the small business community. There will also be the chance for the attendees to network with fellow business leaders from all over the state of Maryland, including nearby Lutherville. Local printing companies will no doubt be providing those who wish to attend with business card printing services. It’s suggested that a business professional brings at least 50 business cards to each networking event so they don’t suffer the embarrasment of running out. Exchanging business cards will help small business owners to increase their chances of success in moving to the next level. The fact that this event will draw people from all over the state opens up a lot of possibilities for those small businesses, more than if this were just a local event.

The keynote speaker for the luncheon will be Duff Goldman of Charm City Cakes. The awards to be handed out include awards for companies throughout Maryland with 1-10 employees, 11-50 employees, 51-200 employees, large company partner in business, and non-profit partner in business. There are three finalists for each award category and each business is supported by their local chamber of commerce.

The program was established back in 2001 and always pulls in business experts to make their choices.
