Montpelier Festival to give a flavor of arts
April 22, 2013 by Sarah
The Montpelier Festival of Herbs, Tea and the Arts is taking place at the end of this month.
The festival will feature over 30 vendors who will be selling fresh herbs, fine arts, and handmade items such as baskets, jewelry, and garden and home accessories. It will also feature tours of artists’ studios, lectures, cooking demonstrations, gardening tips, and a live animal exhibit. Children’s activities will include a hands-on history playground, an art project, kite flying demonstrations, and a ‘make a kite’ workshop. There will also be five tea sittings during which guests can enjoy sandwiches, desserts, scones, and a pot of tea.
The vendors taking part will very likely be working with Laurel printing companies to prepare for the festival. They might want to invest in such services as banner, sign, and postcard printing. Many artists and crafters use postcards as larger format business cards, with the front featuring a photograph of their work and the back containing the contact information. The postcard can be given away for free or sold for a nominal price.
The Montpelier Festival will be taking place at Montpelier Mansion this Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission to the festival is free, and tickets for the tea sittings are priced at $13 each and will take place from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Call the Mansion at 301-377-7817 for more information, or visit the Prince George’s Parks website, which has further details of this and other planned events.
