High-achieving businesses in Laurel and other areas in the start are bound to be looking forward to next week’s Maryland Business Breakthrough Awards Luncheon.

The awards are held to recognize excellence in innovation and business growth within the Maryland-based business community. Businesses were nominated in five categories: 1-10 employees, 11-50, 51-200, 200+, and Large Employer – Partner in Businesses. All nominees are judged by members of the local business media, who then select their winners.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Kim Horn of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc. Guests will enjoy a luncheon, networking opportunities, and a trade show. Local business owners will have the opportunity to showcase their latest products or talk about their services to their peers during the afternoon. Sponsorships are also available for area businesses.

It is likely that everyone planning to attend the luncheon from all over the area, who are sure to be bringing a healthy supply of both traditional and digital business cards to exchange with their peers. Many of them will no doubt be placing a new business card printing order in advance so that they will have enough cards on hand.

The awards event will take place at Martin’s West in baltimore on June 6 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Tickets are $80 for members of several Maryland area Chambers of Commerce or $100 for non-members. For more information, contact Kathleen McNally of the Maryland Chamber of Commerce at 410-269-0642 or 301-261-2858.
