The 55th annual Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber (BWCC) Foundation gala will take place at the Horowitz Centre at Howard Community College on February 4 from 6-11 pm. Tickets are $75 and all proceeds go towards the BWCC Foundation Scholarship Fund. Cocktail attire is expected.

The theme of this year’s gala is ‘Get Fired up for Scholarships: a Night with the Dragon.’ The event will feature comedian Ron Pearson, a wine raffle, live and silent auctions, hors d’oeuvres, drinks and dessert.

There are several levels of sponsorship available at the event; gifted or talented class for $4500, Senior class for $3500, Junior class for $2500, Sophomore class for $1500, Freshman class for $500 and Wine raffle sponsor for $1500. Each level comes with tickets to the events and the companies will be mentioned in all literature created about the event. Wine raffle sponsors have their name printed on 50 wine raffle bags. Local companies are also asked upon to donate items to the live and silent auctions; those who donate an item worth $150 or over will be mentioned on the annual gala dean’s list and those who donate an item worth between $50 and $149.99 will be mentioned on the annual gala honor roll.

High school students throughout the Baltimore Washington corridor, including those from nearby Laurel, will benefit from this event. The event also is celebrating China’s year of the dragon, no doubt local printing companies have been called upon to provide decorations such as posters, banners and even paper lanterns to add to the festive air of the room.
