Economic direction discussed at luncheon
October 28, 2012 by Mark
The Economic Forecast Luncheon will take place at the Comfort Inn Hotel and Conference Center of Bowie next month, with the topic of this year’s luncheon being ‘Whither Maryland?’.
The discussion will be presented by economist Anirban Basu of the Sage Policy Group. He is currently a lecturer in economics at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. Basu will no doubt be leading discussions on where the area is heading and what the future holds for local business owners. There are likely to be several question-and-answer opportunities throughout the afternoon.
Most business professionals, especially those with small businesses, will no doubt have questions about the current state of the economy and where it is going. Hopefully, this luncheon will help to put their minds at ease by giving them the information they need to make more informed decisions in the future.
It will also be an excellent networking opportunity for business experts from the area, including nearby Laurel. Many of those attending will probably stock up on digital business cards in advance of the event; making sure that their information is up-to-date. They will also have the chance to practice their elevator speech while exchanging their cards with each other, as there are sure to be like-minded professionals in attendance.
The luncheon is scheduled for November 14 from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm. Advance tickets are $45 for Baltimore Washington Chamber of Commerce members or $65 for non-members, with admission priced at $80 at the door. Call 301-725-4000 to find out more.
