Decorate for the holidays in Laurel
December 13, 2011 by James
Like many communities throughout the United States, Laurel is having a holiday decorating contest. The Holiday Spirit Decorating awards are sponsored by the City of Laurel’s Department of Parks and Recreation. Winners will be judged on December 16-17.
The contest is open to homes and businesses in Laurel. What better way to get your employee’s morale up by taking part in the Holiday Spirit Decorating contest? Businesses can further encourage their employees to take part by offering them to take part in a work-place challenge to decorate their department, cubicle or desk. Maybe the company could offer the winner a paid day off, a special gift or a certificate proclaiming their win. Laurel printing companies can help you to create a certificate that is suitable for framing; any employee would be happy to have that type of recognition. Also, if a business wins the award it will be an excellent marketing opportunity and something they can use in their advertising.
Contest such as this are a good morale boost for a community. Everyone who wants to participate can help to beautify their city or town for the holidays. It not only creates a magical atmosphere for the children, it fosters community pride and serves as a wonderful example of the creativity that is found in everyday life.
Local residents nominate homes and businesses for the award before December 15. Winners are notified by an award sign which is placed in their yard and the winners names will also be published in the local newspapers.
