Two upcoming events in Baltimore this December will be raising funds for deserving charities.

The first of them will be the ‘Fashion Saves Lives’ which is presented by the American Breast Cancer Foundation and the Johns Hopkins Breast Center. Intended to be the first appearance of an annual event, it is being held at the Port Discovery Children’s Museum and part of the evening’s entertainment will include sampling of food at the ‘A Taste of Baltimore’ exhibit at the museum. There is also going to be a fashion show featuring celebrity models, possibly including some Baltimore Ravens players.

Fashion Save Lives will be held on December 10, beginning at 6:00 pm. General admission tickets are $25 but guests must also pay museum admission, and VIP tickets are $125 which include access, a private lounge, and reserved seating. Contact Lisa Wiederlight at 410-825-9388 for more information.

A few days later, the Holiday Cocktail Reception and Toy Drive is another inaugural event in what is planned to be an annual fixture. Guests will be treated to hors d’oeuvres, cocktail specials, a cash bar, raffles, and giveaways. There is also expected to be a showcase of local businesses. Those attending are asked to bring an unwrapped toy or to make donations to local charities.

This one is taking place at Sullivan’s Steak House on December 15 from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm. Tickets are $25 or $45 which includes a gift bag, red carpet access, and premium cocktails. Call 443-254-1098 to learn more.

Both of these events are likely to attract guests from all over the Baltimore region, including nearby Laurel. Many organizations work with local printing companies to create advertising materials to distribute throughout the community.
