Network with business peers from the Baltimore region

The 8th annual Baltimore the Region networking event will take place at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on August 1 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Tickets are $35 for members of certain chambers and bureaus, the full details of which can be found on the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce website.

Many networking events draw the same people to each event, whereas this one will give Baltimore county area business experts the chance to meet people who they would never have met before. It will therefore be a great opportunity for businesses to increase their referral networks and to help take their companies to the next level of success. As with every networking event, the one thing business leaders from the area, including Hunt Valley, must bring with them is a business card. Printing a few extras will make sure there are enough to go around. Typically, it is suggested you bring at least 50 cards to every networking event, so consider speaking to a print company beforehand.

There are several networking tips for all business professionals to remember. It is important to listen to the other person and to let them know what your business can do for the other, so do not expect to be paid back for offering help. You should set a limit on how long you will talk to each person, preferably long enough for each person to deliver their 30-60 second “elevator pitch.” You should follow up with those whose cards you collect within a day or two.
