Tribute concert to take Glen Burnie residents back in time
June 11, 2013 by Sarah
Glen Burnie residents are invited to attend a concert that pays homage to a variety of beloved musical artists.
In slightly less than two weeks’ time, the community’s Moose Lodge Number 1456 will be hosting a show entitled ‘Premier’s Tribute to the Stars’. Printing companies may be enjoying more business as the performers involved publicize their upcoming appearance by ordering flyers and posters.
The star of the show will be Richard Blane, a Marylander, who has received praise for his impersonations of Elvis Presley, country legends Merle Haggard and Hank Williams, Engelbert Humperdinck, and other famous singers. Attendees can expect to see Blane in full costume as he showcases his vocal skills and recreates the work of these well-known artists with his own unique twist. Blane performs regularly throughout Maryland and has gained a following around the state.
Other vocalists will also be on hand to offer renditions of several Patsy Cline and Frank Sinatra songs. In addition, the event will feature a ‘Doo Wop’ performance.
The show aims to invoke memories of past decades for those in attendance, but the performers expect younger music fans to turn out for the concert as well. Families with small children are encouraged to attend.
Premier’s Tribute to the Stars is scheduled for Saturday, June 22. It will take place at 1911 Crain Highway South and begin at 7:30 pm. Tickets will cost $25 each and dinner will be provided during the show.
Parties who are interested in reserving seats may do so by calling (410) 761-1298.
