Help raise funds for cancer patient

A “Girls’ Day Out” will take place at the Odenton Masonic Lodge on June 3 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Admission is free and all funds which are raised will go towards cancer treatments for Theresa, who has Stage IV breast cancer. The event is being arranged by her daughters to help raise money for her continued treatment of the disease.
The event will feature entertainment, a raffle, a bake sale, sales of silver and pink ribbon jewelry, face painting, live entertainment, hair extension application, and a silent auction. Local companies were solicited to provide the prizes for the auction. There will also be vendors at the event, who will pay $45 for a table and also must donate a prize of at least $25 to the raffle.
This will be a good opportunity for area businesses such as those from nearby Glen Burnie to spread good will in the community and to show that they care. They can showcase their new products, highlight their business, and, with the help of local printing companies, provide literature such as brochures, pamphlets or flyers for people to pick up. Banner printing services might also be used to help decorate the area or to bring attention to various vendor’s tables.
Many events to raise money for cancer treatments or research are impersonal and aimed at addressing a general group of affected people. In this case, the event is raising money for a specific person which puts a different face on the disease and makes people often more excited to raise money.
