Dress down to help the homeless

The Denim and Diamonds Gala will take place at the Hilton – Washington DC North/Gaithersburg on April 20 from 7 pm-12 am. Tickets are $50 and proceeds go to benefit the Friends of Wells/Robertson House. Blue jeans and a tuxedo jacket is a great way of dressing to the theme and girls can be sure to find some way of incorporating denim and diamonds into their cocktail attire.

The evening will consist of dancing to the music of the Reunion Band, a great dinner, a silent auction, and several raffles. Gaithersburg businesses will be donating all the prizes for the raffles and for the silent auction. Local printing companies will also be helping by printing the tickets for the event and the raffle tickets. They will probably be helping to provide signage and posters to decorate the room, and flyers to advertise the event to the community in advance. Four levers of sponsorships for the event are also available from $250-$5000.

The Friends of Wells/Robertson House’s mission is to break down the cycle of addiction and homelessness within their own community, and to provide the sufferers of such addictions with hope, dignity and treatment. Many of the homeless are without stable accommodation due to addiction problems, from which they can’t break free by themselves. Often, they need help to escape that endless cycle and to get their lives back. Thankfully, organizations such as the Wells/Robertson House provide that help with help from the community. Those people who are assisted become contributing members of society and will pay back the help they received by living clean and sober lives.
