Celebrate Gaithersburg with the family

August 11, 2012 by

The 31st annual Celebrate Gaithersburg festival will take place in Olde Towne on September 16 from 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Admission is free.

There will be plenty of family-friendly activities in which to take part during the festival. There will be musical entertainment from bands such as the Smithereens, food concessions and a food truck feast, arts and craft vendors, commercial vendors, children’s activities such as carnival games and face painting, an art car showcase, and information booths from local community organizations.

The festival will also have several defined areas: the Green Zone will be presenting all things environmental, the Healthy Choices Zone will have fitness demonstrations and health information, the Global Zone will showcase the diversity of Montgomery County, and the Kids Zone is where the children’s activities will take place. Arts and crafts vendors will be selling a variety of handmade arts and crafts, such as jewelry, textiles, paintings, prints, and ceramics. There will definitely be something to appeal to everyone in the family.

Artisans can rent space at the festival for $50 for residents of Montgomery County or $70 for non-residents, while non-profit organizations can rent space for $30 or $50. Booths providing activities such as face painting can rent space for $75 or $100 and commercial vendors can rent space for $125 or $145. Whichever type of booth they require, vendorsare more than likely to be working with Gaithersburg printing companies to prepare for the festival. They will want to make their booths more visible, so will probably be investing in such services as banner printing and sign printing.
