Frederick to hit the September streets
August 8, 2012 by Mark
The thirtieth annual ‘In the Street’ festival will take place on Market Street, between Carroll Creek and 7th, on September 8 from 8:45 am – 9:00 pm. Over 50,000 visitors are expected to attend this mainly free event.
The will be many activities in which to take part at In the Street including a mile-long run, music, beer and wine gardens, children’s activities, food vendors, and craft vendors. The Market Street Mile is for runners of all ages and features awards for various winners. Fees to take part in the Mile are $15 in advance or $20 on the day of the event.
The festival will be divided into various blocks on such topics as art, health and fitness, going green, history, kids, and sports. The Art Block will feature dancers, vendors, live performances, and exhibits. The Going Green Block will have exhibits, vendors, demonstrations, information booths, and games, while the Health and Wellness Block will offer health screenings and information from various community and health organizations. In addition, the Creekside Market will showcase original arts and crafts by local artisans.
No doubt many of the organizations that will be exhibiting and providing information to the public will be working with Frederick printing companies to prepare for In the Street. Brochure printers can provide booklets that will let the general public learn all there is to know about an organization.
This event appears to have something to offer everyone and is set to make for a great family outing.
