The 19th annual Frederick Festival of the Arts will take place at Carroll Creek Linear Park over the weekend of June 2 – 3. Hours for Saturday will be 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and hours on Sunday will be from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. Admission is free for this outdoor festival, with plenty of parking spaces available and handicapped accessible walkways provided to make the event enjoyable for all.

This is a jury-chosen art event where 105 visual artists were selected from 240 entries to take part in this year`s festival. Artists come from all over the United States to participate and work in all genres including jewelry, drawing, photography, and mixed media. In addition to the artists exhibits, there will be musical performances on two stages, children’s activities, boat rentals, and of course lots of food to enjoy.

Sponsorships are still available for businesses and organizations to show that they support the arts in their community. In addition, donations for Friends of the Festival are being solicited. There are different levels of Friends, such as the $50 Warhol level and the $1,000 Picasso level. No doubt, Frederick printing companies will be playing a big part in the decoration of this event and in the marketing of the festival.

Funds for the Frederick Festival of the Arts are collected in several ways, through sponsorship, Friends of the Festival, and the ArtSelect lottery which was held in March of this year. For $125 for art collectors and $25 for the general public, participants could win a work of art chosen at random.
