Tomorrow, September 9, the Johnny Unitas Stadium – Towson University will host the ‘Great Prostate Cancer Challenge’. Located just a few miles from Crofton, Maryland, this 5K fun walk and run will take place between 8:00 am and 11:00 am.
This is a benefit walk and run tin aid of ZERO, with the funds raised to be used for prostate cancer research. It is also to raise awareness and provide much needed information about the disease. There will be free screenings available during this event for those who are underinsured or underprivileged.
Besides the walk and run, there will be a number of children’s activities, including costumed characters, bouncing structures, face painting, and much more. Throughout the event there will be live entertainment, including the retired players from the Raven’s NFL and the cheerleaders. A number of vendors will be present at the event, providing information and products, as well as free beverages and food.
T-shirts will be available for the first 1,500 people that register for this family event, which can be done online, and prizes will be presented for all ages and categories at the end of the race. This promises to be fun time for all who attend.
Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to promote this fundraising event to the local community and surrounding districts. The cost to register is now $35, since September 5 has passed. For additional details, please visit the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge website or call 443-738-2738.
