The Festival on the Green (formerly the Clifton Craft Fair) will take place at the Crofton Country Club on April 28 from 10 am-4 pm. Admission is free; vendors booth rental is $70 for Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce members and $100 for non-members.
The festival features handmade and home-produced crafts and works of art; anything mass produced is not accepted. Arts and crafts vendors must “possess a valid Maryland Sales Tax License or file a Concessionaire’s Return” and those selling food must have for a permit from the Anne Arundel County Health Department. Any items, such as custom made t-shirts, must be produced at the festival.
The Festival on the Green is a popular one in Crofton; in addition to arts, crafts and food past festivals have features activities such as live musical performances, face painting and lawn games. Vendors at the festival sell items such as jewelry, paintings, books, clothing and toys.
Local artists and crafters often have a hard time getting their name and products known to consumers. Thankfully, most communities have a least one craft fair a year in which they can display and sell their items. Crofton vendors who decide to take part in the Festival on the Green can use the services of local printing companies to help get their booth noticed by those passing buy. Colorful banner printing or a sign that can be seen from across the field will ensure that the booth will not be ignored.
