Catonsville pets to pose with Santa at holiday fundraiser

December 11, 2013 by

Pet owners from the Catonsville area are invited to make some holiday memories with their furry friends while lending their support to a good cause.

For the next two weekends, the My Pet Store and More in nearby Elicott City will be offering photo sessions with Santa Claus for the benefit of the Mid-Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue (MAGSR). Poster printing has likely been on the rise as the organizers of this event make efforts to publicize it around the community.

Dogs of all breeds and sizes will be welcome to pose with St. Nick. A number of cats are also expected to make an appearance. Many animals will be decked out in festive costumes, and owners will have the option of joining their pets in the photos or stepping aside while volunteers snap the pictures.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward MAGSR’s efforts to find permanent homes for purebred German shepherds, as well as shepherd mixes. The non-profit organization has successfully placed more than three thousand dogs for adoption since 1999.

Attendees will be free to make enquiries about the animals currently under the foundation’s care. The pet store will also be open for regular business, allowing visitors to shop for Christmas-themed gifts and everyday items for their four-legged family members.

Photos with Santa will be available on December 14, 15, 21, and 22. The event will run from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on both Saturdays and from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm on both Sundays.

My Pet Store and More is located at 9469 Baltimore National Pike.
