Catonsville homeowners to draw inspiration from design expo

October 7, 2013 by

Catonsville area homeowners will soon be descending upon the Maryland State Fairgrounds in nearby Timonium to enjoy a weekend devoted to interior decorating, landscaping, and gardening ideas.

In less than two weeks’ time, the Maryland Home and Garden Show will be returning to Baltimore County for its 32nd year. Printing companies may be seeing additional business as hundreds of participating exhibitors order brochures and informational flyers in anticipation of the big event.

This year, the theme at the expo will be ‘Home for the Holidays’. A variety of vendors, including product experts and renovation contractors, will be present to offer their tips on how to make a house comfortable and guest-friendly during the fall and winter seasons. These professionals will give attendees advice on the types of projects that they can undertake, but will also make suggestions as to how visitors should finish improvements already in progress.

Guests will have a chance to consult with representatives from the American Society of Interior Designers. The event will also feature a craft show and samples of landscaped gardens.

Special guests at the expo will include Cari Cucksey from Home and Garden Television and famed sculptor Randy Hofman. Cucksey will share her secrets for restoring antiques, while Hofman will create new masterpieces for the crowd. Another artist, Gabriel Vinas, will make sculptures out of pumpkins.

The Maryland Home and Garden Show will begin on Friday, October 18 and continue through Sunday, October 20. Tickets will cost $9 for adult attendees, $7 for senior citizens, and $3 for children ages six and up. Younger visitors will receive free admission.
