Bel Air warms up for eventful parade

December 1, 2012 by

The Bel Air Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration is presented by the Town of Bel Air and the Bel Air Downtown Alliance and this is the 23rd year of the annual celebration. Taking place tomorrow, December 2, it will be a great place to enjoy some quality family time while ushering in the holiday season. There are activities for the whole family, including the kiddies.

This year’s Christmas Parade features floats, a living Christmas tree, miniature horses, horse-drawn wagons, marching units, the Titans Drum Corps, Applause of Bel Air, Twirl Tas Tix, and the Hoppin’ Hawks to perform the live musical entertainment, although there are many other entertainers listed on the schedule of events.

The parade will feature Spiderman, McGruff the Crime Dog, Frosty the Snowman, the Grinch, the Cat in the Hat, stilt-walkers, acrobats, and the marching bands from seven area schools. Throughout the event, there will be candy, cookies, free hot cocoa and, of course, a visit from the Clauses. If cancelled due to inclement weather, local radio stations will make an announcement at noon on the day. Presently, there is no rain date planned.

Everyone is invited to attend this free event, which has no doubt been the subject of local poster printing. The Bel Air Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Celebration will be happening on tomorrow from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm in downtown Bel Air, Maryland. For additional information or the parade route, please visit Downtown Bel Air or call Scott T. Walker of the Bel Air Downtown Alliance at 443-823-1797.
