Bel Air to host state cook-off and festival

August 4, 2013 by

Members of the Bel Air community are gearing up to host one of the largest summer food festivals in the mid-Atlantic region.

In approximately two weeks’ time, the town’s commercial district will become the site of the 2013 Maryland State BBQ Bash. Poster printing is almost undoubtedly on the increase as the sponsors and organizers of this exciting event collaborate to advertise it to the public.

This will be the festival’s 12th year in Bel Air. Cooks from every part of Maryland will gather to impress a panel of judges with their barbecuing skills. Some will be entering the contest as individuals, while others will be working in teams. Attendees will be free to sample as many dishes as they wish.

The BBQ Bash will also include a beer and wine garden, a “village” filled with the works of various exhibitors and craftsmen, and a number of snack and beverage booths. Children will be encouraged to head over to the ‘Little Piggies Fun Zone’ to enjoy magic shows, receive airbrush tattoos, and have their caricatures drawn.

Tyler Daniel, a DJ from the WXCY radio station, will be on hand to play popular country music hits for the crowd. The festival will also feature a concert from rising country singer Joel Crouse.

The BBQ Bash will take place in downtown Bel Air on Friday, August 9 and on Saturday, August 10. It will run from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on the Friday and from 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm on the Saturday.
