Bel Air area country club to host duck derby fundraiser
July 2, 2013 by James
Bel Air residents are encouraged to participate in an evening of family fun for the benefit of a local charity foundation.
In less than two weeks, the Valleybrook Country Club in nearby Kingsville will be hosting the Lazy River Duck Derby to raise funds for the Cool Kids Campaign. Flyer printing is almost certainly on the increase as the organizers of this community event work to recruit as many attendees as possible.
Those who arrive at the country club will pay an entrance fee of $10 per person, which will allow them to enter a rubber duck into a series of three swimming pool races. After each of these contests, the sponsor of the winning duck will be presented with a gift basket. There will also be a fourth and final race that consists of only 100 ducks. Attendees will need to pay an extra $10 to enter their ducks into this competition.
The derby itself will only be part of the excitement. Participants will also be welcome to swim, play beach volleyball and tennis, and picnic on the country club grounds. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
All proceeds from the event will go toward the Cool Kids Campaign, which is headquartered in Towson, Maryland, and seeks to assist children with cancer. This non-profit organization largely focuses on helping kids remain on track academically and socially in spite of illness.
The Duck Derby will take place on Friday, July 12 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Those seeking additional information may call (410) 803-2334.
