Pikesville crafters should plan on a trip to Baltimore
February 17, 2013 by James
Pikesville residents who enjoy crafts or want to know what’s new in home décor will soon have an opportunity to find out.
The American Craft Council will have a show later this month in Baltimore. Exhibitors include specialists in many disciplines, among them Susan Sunderland of Sunderland Interiors in Pikesville.
The American Craft Show Baltimore is scheduled for February 22 – 24 at the Baltimore Convention Center, 1 West Pratt Street, in Baltimore. One of the aims of the show is to help visitors understand how to work crafts, which can be rustic, into room décor. Craft Council representatives note that although many collectors enjoy finding high-quality hand-crafted works, they have difficulty incorporating them into their homes. This show, which features crafters who work in everything from jewelry to paper to stone, will help them find ways to meld the two design ideas.
The show is open February 22 from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm; February 23 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm; and February 24 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $16 the day or $28 for a three-day admission. People can save money by purchasing advance tickets on-line: $14 for the day, or $25 for all three. Online buyers who purchase tickets by 11.59 pm, February 20, will be entered in a drawing to win a $250 gift certificate to spend at the show.
The show’s organizers could work with experts in flyer printing to create a piece that lists all the exhibitors, and includes a map of the convention center, as well as nearby attractions.
