The 13th annual Forget-Me-Not Gala will take place at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Frederick on March 31 from 7-11 pm. Tickets are $85 which includes free dance lessons to prepare for the event; it is black-tie optional. All proceeds go towards the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Forget-Me-Not Gala is co-chaired by Judy Lancaster and Diana Grimm. The evening will include cocktails, a sit-down dinner, raffles, music from The Shades and a dance contest. Those who wish to can compete in dance contests. Dancers will compete for Best Swing, Best Cha Cha and Best Rumba to be chosen by a panel of judges. The You’re the Star Trophy will be given to the dancer who raises the most money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Donations can be made online at the Alzheimer’s Association website; the dancers can earn votes before the event, each vote costs $1.

This would be an excellent opportunity for local companies to help build the morale for their employees. Encouraging employees to compete in the dance contest and to have other’s vote for them will help bring everyone together for a good cause. The person in your company who raises the most money can be given some sort of recognition, such as a day off with pay or a certificate of appreciation. Baltimore printing companies can help design a frame-worthy certificate that can be displayed in a public area of your business.

Most people will eventually be touched with Alzheimer’s, either personally or through a friend or family member. It is important that a cure be found and fund raisers such as this help immensely.
