Things about to get heated in Idaho

March 12, 2013 by

The Murphy Fire House Chili Cook-Off provides all the local expert chili makers with the opportunity to come out and compete for the title of “Best Chili Maker” in the area – an accolade well worth adding to the digital business cards of any chef who takes their job seriously.

The cook-off is in its second year and is being hosted on the lawns outside the Owyhee County Museum, coinciding with the Murphy Spring Bazaar hosted each year. Competition entry forms are currently available and cost $15 for the first chili entry and $5 for each additional entry. Families are invited to come out and sample as many of the chili variations as they can eat.

This is a fundraising event with the proceeds to benefit the Murphy Reynolds Wilson Fire District’s equipment fund. Competitor entry forms are available online. For people who love chili, this is a cook-off not to be missed, so bring the kids and come down for some one of a kind chili tasting.

Unlimited tasting is $5 per person, and entry to the Murphy Bazaar is free to all with everyone being welcome. The Murphy Fire House Chili Cook-Off is happening this Saturday, March 16, starting at 9:00 am on the lawns of the Owyhee County Museum located at 170885 Basey Street in Murphy, Idaho, just down the road from Boise. To get an entry form or find out more information about the event, please visit the Murphy Fire House Chili Cook-Off website or call Louis at 208-495-2154.
