Visit the Plymouth Ice Festival 2012

December 2, 2011 by

The 29th annual Plymouth Ice Festival will take place from January 21-23, 2012. Events will take place throughout the city including Kellogg Park, Penniman Avenue and Forest Avenue. Over 100,000 people are expected to visit the festival during its three day run.

There will be over 100 ice sculptures on display at Kellogg Park during the festival. The festival will start off with the lighting of the Ice Torch at 7 pm on January 21. There will also be live entertainment, music, family shows and winter-themed treats. The Hot Spot will offer hot drinks and snacks to keep people festive.

One of the most popular events at the Plymouth Ice Festival is the Dueling Chain Saws Speed Carving Show; two carvers compete and are judged by the audience. There is also a petting zoo, pony rides, live reindeer and a Kids Zone.

Various stores will be featuring their own in-house events and will also offer discounts to shoppers. Many businesses in Plymouth, and everywhere else, depend on holiday and Christmas shoppers in order to survive. Offering discounts goes a long way in getting people to shop at your store. Investing in banner printing services can guarantee that their participation in the Ice Festival is recognized by those who just pass by on the street.

There will also be two college carving competitions taking place at Kellogg Park during the Ice Festival; the College Individual Carving Competition and the College Two Man Team Carving Competition. The winners of each will be presented with an award at ceremonies held at the Lou LaRiche Chevrolet Main Stage.
