Inaugural run to highlight child abuse awareness

September 15, 2012 by

Any Plymouth resident who loves the outdoors can put their best foot forward and come on out to the first annual Lighthouse Run for Ribbons 5K.

The Lighthouse Family Charity is a not-for-profit corporation with the mission of supporting the victims of child abuse through awareness, prevention, support, and services. The fee to register for the 5K walk/run is $30. Participants may also enter the one-mile dash to the finish to receive a Pinwheel for Prevention™ for an additional fee of $15. Both races can be entered for a combined fee of $35.

Promotional tools that can be used to advertise and convince people to donate their time and energy to a worthy cause include poster printing, brochures, and flyer printing. Before the event, they can be used to entice people to participate, sponsor someone else, or come out to watch. After the event, posters, brochures, and flyers can be used to advertise the success of the event, thank people for participating, and to get the ball rolling for the next year’s campaign.

Anyone interested in participating should register online at the Lighthouse Family Charity website before Thursday, September 20. Those who miss the deadline can register the day of the event and pay by cash or check only.

The fundraising event, hosted by the Lighthouse Family Charity, will be held on Saturday, September 23 at the Gathering Pavilion on Penniman Ave and South Union Street in downtown Plymouth. More information on the event, and on child abuse prevention, can be found on the Lighthouse Family Charity website.
