On August 3 – 4, residents of Michigan and surrounding states will enjoy jazz music, along with vendors of crafts, clothing, beverages, ethnic food, and art, in the two-day Lansing JazzFest. The Old Town streets will be filled with fun and activities for all ages between the hours of 4:30 pm until 12:30 am on the Friday, and 1:00 pm to 12:30 am on the Saturday.

Friday’s happy hour for patrons over 21 will begin at 4:00 pm and conclude at 6:00 pm with free admission into the beverage tent. Guests can hear jazz sounds on Turner Street while mingling and making new friends.

Lansing Metro Marinas will provide River Boat Tours, running from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm on that evening, touring the Grand River. Scenic views of natural surroundings and new downtown vibrant developments of Lansing will be seen during the tour, which costs $3 for each person and leaves from the Burchard Park dock, beside Brenke Fish Ladder.

A music tent called Kidz Beat will be open on Saturday from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm for children and parents to explore interactive music. Children can construct their own musical instruments, enjoy chalk art, visit the instrument petting zoo, and get their faces painted.

In addition, a River Boat Taxi will run from 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Saturday for bringing guests to the festival via the Grand River. The taxi will leave on the hour from Lansing City Market and on the half hour from Old Town.
