Doctors and health experts to guide walk

July 16, 2012 by

On Thursday, July 19, ‘Walk with a Doc’ will take place at Heritage Park Nature Discovery Center located at 24915 Farmington Road, between 10 and 11 Mile Road, in Farmington Hills, Michigan. This event will run from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

Local residents are invited to join the Botford Hospital Doctors and Naturalists from Farmington Hills for a monthly walk to discuss the subject of stress management. During the walk, participants will be able to discuss a number of wellness and health topics related to controlling stress.

Held in the natural setting of the Discovery Park, everyone can enjoy the serene setting and begin to understand the healing powers that nature can offer each of them. It goes without saying that guests are reminded to dress comfortably and appropriately for this outdoor walk, wear a good, solid pair of walking shoes, and remember the possible damaging effects of the sun’s rays by bringing sun screen, sun glasses, and a hat. If the weather is prohibitive, the discussion portion may be held indoors.

Throughout the walk, naturalists will showcase some of the most modern ways to prevent and reduce stress in everyone’s lives and doctors will also discuss this at length. Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to encourage people to attend this relaxing event to learn more about relaxation and stress reduction. This event is free but pre-registration is encouraged, although not compulsory. For more information, please visit the Heritage Park Nature Discovery Center website or call 248-477-1135.
