The free concerts will take place in 370 Lakeside Park, in St. Peters. Covering 300 acres, the park features a 140-acre lake, an RV park, and a three-mile pedestrian trail that circles the water. There is also a snack shop called The Gator Grill. The park has been closed recently because of heavy rains, but it reopened on May 10 and is ready for its summer music series.

There has been a series of free concerts at the CityCentrePark for the past several years, according to St. Peters’ mayor, Len Pagano. The Sunset Fridays at the 370 Lakeside Park are in addition to those in the city center, not a replacement for them. Commerce Bank and Mid Rivers Newsmagazine are sponsoring the Sunset Fridays.

The concerts begin at 6:30 pm this Friday, May 24, and usually last two hours, according to Mayor Pagano. The concerts are held at the park marina, where about 60 people can sit on the dock. When that gets full, there is plenty of additional space on the grass and sidewalks, says the Mayor.

The concerts feature a variety of country, jazz, rock, acoustic, and folk music, and the venue itself provides another attraction – gorgeous sunsets, the Mayor says.

Since this largely a community event, sponsors could work with flyer printing experts to create a mailer for distribution to area residents, reminding them the concerts are starting soon, and giving them the lineup of acts they are going to see.

These rolling coaches serve up hot meals quickly at very low prices, and offer an amazing variety of tasty treats. It was reported earlier in May that the trucks have proved to be so popular that some entrepreneurs spent Mother’s Day (May 12) in a Food Truck Rodeo. The event will repeat on June 9, August 11, and October 13.

Some of the vendors who participated include Philly’s Cheesesteaks, Stoke & Smoke BBQ, Kona Ice, and Tarheel Creamery. Estimates were that 40 food trucks and as many as 6,000 people attended the rodeo, which reflects the trucks’ growing popularity.

Raleigh City Council considered the issue of allowing food trucks to operate within the city two years ago and allowed a small number to set up shop. However, concerns were raised about the impact of the trucks on traditional restaurants, the quality and safety of the food, and how much space the trucks would take, as parking is already scarce. Council members also expressed concern that the trucks would draw crowds, resulting in noise and litter.

However, a year later, when the issue came up again, the Council discovered there had not been a single complaint about the trucks then operating, so they decided to grant licenses to additional vendors. Thus far, the results have continued to be positive.

Since the trucks are mobile, vendors could consider work with banner printing experts to create a large banner to install on the truck once it is parked for the day.

The new facility will assist seniors who are confused about Medicare coverage.

The Welcome Room is both a sales and information office, where seniors can go to find out about WellCare’s Medicare Advantage plans. Offered by many companies, they consist of insurance plans designed to supplement traditional Medicare.

WellCare located an office in San Antonio to help serve the estimated 236,000 seniors in the area who are eligible for Medicare. This brings the total to 14 Welcome Rooms located in New York, Connecticut, Texas, and Florida.

Texas State Senator Leticia Van de Putte, who represents District 26, which includes a large part of San Antonio, is glad WellCare has opened an office here, noting it will help seniors decide on their healthcare by providing them with vital information about their options and eligibility for the health-related programs. Van de Putte also said the opening was particularly important given the number of changes in health care laws under the Affordable Care Act.

WellCare is sure to want to make sure seniors know about the new office, so it could work with brochure printers to create a mailer giving the location, hours, and a list of services provided. It need not be complete, but it will give prospective buyers a starting point for discussion.

The Garden City Center Art Festival will be taking place over two days in Cranston this June. A portion of all proceeds will go to ‘Art is Smart’.

The art festival will feature approximately 150 contemporary artists who will be selling handmade items such as paintings, jewelry, crafts, ceramics, glass, and photographs. In addition, there will be food for sale, children’s crafts, a community art project, musical entertainment and strolling entertainers. It will be a great opportunity for artisans to make themselves known in the community and for visitors to discover some great handmade fine arts, or perhaps to pick up a gift for a friend or family member.

Artists and crafters hoping to take part in the festival must apply to have their works assessed by a jury. Booths are $175 or $225 for a corner booth. Food vendors can rent a booth for $200 or $300 for a corner one, and there will even be 10 free booths available to young artists from grades one through twelve.

It’s very likely that the event poster, which has been widely distributed, was designed and printed with the help of local printing companies offering poster printing services. This should help art-minded people in surrounding areas such as Providence find out about this upcoming festival.

The Garden City Center Art Festival will take place at the Garden City Center in Cranston from June 8 – 9, and is free to attend. For more information, contact Jennifer Neuguth at 401-374-3899.

A JS Online article from earlier this month lists four of the places that make the city such a special place for nature lovers, and what they are doing to prepare for the summer

The Missouri Botanical Garden, which dates from 1859, is considered one of the world’s best. It is a National Historic Landmark as well as a botanical research center. On Shaw Boulevard just southwest of downtown St. Louis, it features a koi pond, Japanese garden, children’s garden ,and tram tours, as well as the Kemper Center for Home Gardening, which has 23 demonstration gardens.

‘MoBot’, as it is dubbed, also features a maze, observatory and herb garden tucked into what is called the ‘Victorian District’, but perhaps the most intriguing feature is the Climatron, a geodesic dome that soars to a height of 70 feet and spans a half-acre in the garden’s center.

The much smaller St. Louis CityGarden is located downtown, near the Gateway Arch. It features rain gardens, native plans, waterfalls, and over 20 sculptures by contemporary artists. The garden is free, and is open every day all day, providing a haven of green space amid the skyscrapers.

Suburban Chesterfield boasts the Butterfly House, which features thousands of butterflies, as the name implies. Further from the city in Gray’s Summit lies the Shaw Nature Reserve, offering hiking trails covering 14 miles of varying terrain.

Each garden could work with brochure printers to create a brochure with maps, hours, and, in particular, photographs of the gardens to draw visitors this summer.

The renovation is expected to be complete by early 2014, but some media representatives got a look at the work in progress earlier this month.

Renovations began July, 2012 to allow airlines that fly into Raleigh to add gates in the future, which will let them increase the number of flights. The revamped terminal will also include more security checkpoints, more ticketing options, more baggage claims, and new shops and restaurants, as well as other amenities travelers favor. Another improvement is the increase in the number of electrical outlets near the gates, where travelers can charge their electronics while they wait for their flights.

Terminal 2 was built new at a cost of approximately $570m, but Terminal 1 was already extant, which means the renovations cost much less—about 90% less than the cost of construction of the newer facility. Renovations cost about $68m, but airport authorities say the two terminals will be very similar. They also hope the renovated Terminal 1 will strike the right note with visitors to the area, since it’s the first thing they see. An efficient, clean, modern airport can make a visitor feel welcome, which is precisely what Raleigh aims to do with its modernization project.

Airport officials will no doubt want to attract tenants to the terminal, so they could work with brochure printers to create a mailer explaining why merchants should look into this opportunity.

The park will be 100 years old this year, and will reopen just before the annual ‘A Day in Our Village’ celebration, slated for June 2. A ribbon-cutting is set for June 1 at 10:00 am.

The renovations and improvements to Scoville Park began in 2010, as part of a master plan. The renovations cost approximately $1.6m, which came in the form of a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. An additional $725,000 was provided by the park district.

Improvements include a permanent stage to be used for live performances; a new playground and rebuilt tennis courts. New pedestrian paths have been paved and measure at six feet wide to accommodate walkers. Additional decorative fences were installed, new trees were planted, and the south side lawn was expanded. The restrooms have been expanded and renovated as well.

The improvements were undertaken after a series of focus group meetings were held to gather input from the business community and local government officials. Public meetings were also held. David Pope, the village’s president, congratulated those who made the improvements, saying he was looking forward to watching the park come alive as the Spring weather warms the region.

Almost three years after the original building was ravished by a tornado, work is now set to get underway on a new Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering building for the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC).

September 16, 2010, was a terrible day in Wooster, due to the storm, but work is now set to begin on a new building, and Steve Slack, director of OARDC, could not be happier.

The ruins of the building stood for two years, held up by braces, a constant reminder of the storm, Slack said. He also noted he was “tired of seeing it every day” and found it “cathartic” when the old building was finally pulled down.

May 10 was thus a great day, since ground was broken for the new $11m building. Slack noted the ground was fresh, and the ceremony marked the beginning of the renewal process, as well as the end of the healing.

Bruce McPheron, vice president and dean of OSU’s College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, noted that having a building blown down is not an ideal way to plan a new campus, but expressed gratitude there were no deaths or major injuries due to the tornado, which was to blame for about $30m in damage. Work on the building should begin in July, with completion slated for September, 2014 – four full years after the storm.

College officials could work with business card printing services to prepare cards for the people who will work in the new building, perhaps consulting a banner printing expert to commemorate the occasion as well.

Parma, Ohio, has plans to build tennis courts in Veterans Memorial Park, located near the city center.

The new courts, which are estimated to cost $100,000, will be sited next to four extant courts. They are replacing four that were recently demolished to make way for the new Cuyahoga County library, which is currently under construction.

Funding for the courts could be tricky, since it comes from various sources, including highly competitive grants. One grant, for $70,000, would be from the U.S. Land and Water Conservation Fund, which operates under the auspices of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). The additional $30,000 might come from Ohio NatureWorks (ONW), an organization that assists local governments in their efforts to obtain, develop, and restore recreational spaces. Derek Schafer, conservation project manager and watershed coordinator for West Creek Conservancy, said his organization applied for grants on behalf of Parma earlier this week.

The catch is that the city of Parma also has to appropriate funds. If the project receives a grant from ODNR, the city must provide an amount equivalent to 50% of the grant, while if ONW gives the project the go-ahead, Parma has to contribute 25% of the amount. Schafer said he is in the process of deciding how much to request so the city pays as little as possible. The grants will not be awarded until fall of this year, so construction will begin in spring 2014 if they are received.

The tennis courts will provide fun for many, so Parma officials might consider working with a banner printing expert to create something to display when it opens.

The upscale steakhouse, Ruth’s Chris, is relocating. It was reported this month that the restaurant will be leaving its Threel Road location for the anchor spot in the Ironworks at Keystone project in Indianapolis, Indiana, scheduled to open in May 2014.

The project is located on the southwest corner of East 86th Street and Keystone Avenue, and began construction just last month.

The Ironworks at Keystone is a mixed-use development that comprises retail and residential spaces. Overall, the center features 147,313 square feet suitable for leasing. There are retail spaces, including Ruth’s Chris, on the first floor, while the second through fifth floors are comprised of 120 luxurious loft-type apartments. Ironworks at Keystone sits on approximately six acres of land, and has 155 parking spaces in its underground garage, to be used by both visitors and residents.

Ruth’s Chris’s new restaurant will occupy 16,500 square feet on two levels, and will be able to accommodate up to 470 guests. Ruth’s Chris is managed by Hoosier Hospitality Group, which also handles Another Broken Egg Cafes. Larry Griggers, Hoosier Hospitality’s CEO, said the decision to move was made only after long and careful consideration. The management company feels that the new location will better serve existing patrons, and draw new ones to the steakhouse.

Ruth’s Chris management, together with Ironworks developers, could work with brochure printers to develop a piece to distribute to potential tenants, highlighting the benefits of relocating to Ironworks and indicating the popularity of Ruth’s Chris as a draw to bring in customers.
